Here is a list of sites I have come across while surfing or searching that provide free space for you to build your own web site.
You won't be able to use your own domain name on one of these free sites,
but they will give you free space and the opportunity to try your hand at being a webmaster.
Check out several of them prior to signing up. Look for size, more server space means more pages or images can be included.
Surf through member sites and get a feel for the download time of the pages.
If it is slow, visitors to your site may get discouraged and go elsewhere.
Most if not all of the following 'communities' also provide free e-mail with your account.
Other features may include chat rooms, message boards, hit counters, HTML editors, graphic files, and more.
Are these sites really free? Yes, and no. The basic web site is free, but some other features may be fee based.
There will also be some sort of banner advertising inserted into your page. It could be on just the homepage or all pages.
This is another reason to surf several of the sites in order to find the one that is right for you.

Angelfire provides up to 50MB. Geo Cities provides 15MB. Fortune City provides25MB. Talk City provides 12MB. Free Yellow provides 50MB. Animal House provides ?MB. Hyper Mart provides 50 MB its target is business sites. No advertising and domain names options are available. iVillage The Woman's Network provides 5MB. Multi Mania is in French and I don't know the language but it looks like 12MB is free. Maybe one of you can help me with this. Tripod provides 50MB. Gurl Pages provides 10MB. Their target is young females. Possibly a place for your daughter?
